Ever since the evening celebration is moved to Circular Quay, the event is getting bigger and better!
There's free concert at southern foyer of the Opera House, with great famous performers, , light installations and jet ski shows on the water and flyboard prowess, and mutiple sessions of amazing fireworks! Fireworks is over the circular Quay bay, not on the bridge, its almost as good as the New Year's Eve firewworks, but other entertainment and less crowd makes more enjoyable!
There're fireworks in Darling Harbour as well, and celebration activities in various places in the city throughout the day. A street party started at The Rocks from 11:30am till 6:30 pm. Its a breathtaking maritime, musical and dance extravaganza.

You can register on Opera House website for the free concert ticket.
Be there earlier to take better seatings. Best to sit high up on the steps, so you will see the convert as well as the shows on the water and fireworks
