Beautiful city with lots to see and do.
I didn't know the place is full of hot springs, with many venues for thermal baths. The two biggest ones are Szechenyi and Gellert. Szechenyi boasts the biggest spa party in the world, mostly for young tourists. Gellert spa is attached to the Gellert hotel complex with various bath pool, swimming pool and outdoor lounging area, cafe, massage rooms.. you can spend a day there. During peak season, the popular spas are bit crowded.
The city is rich in tourism resources, but not very well organised, services are average overall.
Stayed till St Stephens day, the fireworks is amazing, cruising along the Danube is a must.
I didn't have time to discover where the locals go, certainly not the touristy venues.
Tips for other travellers
Easier to get a two day sightseeing bus ticket to discover the city and for transportation.
