On our visit to Norway, we enjoyed the sights with a challenging walking tour in deep falling snow. It was great to visit the Last city hall (there are 3 altogether) and the national theatre and of course parliament. We stopped at the confronting sculpture depicting smashing Nazis and the tiger statue which is the symbol of Norway. We loved the opera house which cost NOK4 billion to build. The snow was falling and we watched children ice skating. A bug took us to Gudvangen where we caught the ferry to Flam. The Flamsbana railway train ride is one of the top 10 astonishing train rides in the world and unbelievably scenic. The photo's don't do it justice. It's simply 'out of this world'.
The train trip from Oslo to Bergen - My photos have no filter and it made us think "God's Country"!. It's beautiful! We traipsed around Bergen in the wind rain and snow and loved it! walking to the Bergen university rugged up against the cold. The views down by the harbour were spectacular. We caught the Funicular to the top of Mount Floyen and the view from the top over the city was fabulous. Norway is a wonderful destination.
Tips for other travellers
Take plenty of warm clothing - it can get very cold.
Beautiful coastal city, lots of green parks, museums, classic and modern architecture , good food. Good and Shoping are expensive though.
I like the vibrant waterfront Aker Bryggen, visit the Salmon centre, delicious seafood and get to know everything about salmon.
