Probably the most popular destination in Greece, it attracts thousands of tourists in summer peak season every day.
The views are stunning, sunset in Oia is magical, but super crowded on the day we went, when there're 6 cruise ships docking there.
Best accommodation options are in Oia, which has everything to offer, views, dining, shops..
There're nice beaches on the island, but further away from town. Beach sands are black or red due to the Volcano ashes.
Water around the island is full of minerals.

Tips for other travellers

During peak season, its very difficult to find transport upon arrival, you'll queue for expensive transfers, better pre book before arrival.
taxi on the island is expensive, starting from approx 30 euro for any distance,
If you are going during peak season, its better to book a table on the cliff of Oia for viewing sunset.
