Never thought Russia could get this warm, this is where Russians or some Europeans escape winter!
Many hotels are along the beach side with sea views. The best ones in the centre should be Pullman and Hyatt Regency. I did not have the time to inspect. Locations are great.
We were there for World Cup matches. The Australia team stayed at Radisson Blue Paradise a resort & Spa, at Alder, next to Olympic Park, away from city centre, nice resort hotel, good facilities.
Tips for other travellers
If you want to be next to Olympic Park, stay in hotels in Alder, where there"s limited choices of restaurants and entertainment. I'd much prefer staying in city centre, close to attractions, nice beach promenade with loads of dining and bar options, shops (quite touristy), or other boutique shopping areas.
I learnt during some season, you can ski on the mountains and be at the beach swimming after one hour train travel, that would be amazing!
The small country Georgia is nearby, and you may not need a visa once you have visa to Russia, interesting day tour or you can stay there fir couple of nights.
