Virgin Australia Business Class Reviews Business Class from Sydney, Australia to Melbourne, Australia on 18 Dec 2022VA816BOEING 737-800The plane is not even half full. Service is good, food is not exiting, it’s a short flight Sydney to Melbourne
Virgin Australia Business Class Reviews Business Class from Brisbane, Australia to Christchurch, New Zealand on 12 Mar 2020Great staff, old plane. The food was very basic and not Business Class standard. No complimentary wine on boarding the flight
Virgin Australia Business Class Reviews Business Class from Sydney Australia to Chicago United States on 21 Oct 2019VA001BOEING 777 300 ERService was excellent. I enjoyed the flat bed and in flight entertainment. Food was tasty and there was limited but adequate choice.
Plane was 2 hours late leaving Sydney then it caught on fire on the tarmac. 9 hours later we were ushered onto the same plane that did not have a working APU, so cabin HOT, food a bit funky and replacement staff were understaffed and jaded. Virgin staff on ground in LAX were surly and unhelpful. So Virgin's service recovery was appalling.Photo of plane with fire truck attending to the APU.
Tips for other travellers
Don't arrive early to airport as the flight is likely to be delayed and it just adds to the stress.

It wasn't a pleasant trip. It started when you had to stand in the transfer bus to the aircraft for over 20 minutes with full load of crowd chatting and laughing loudly all around you...
I had a heart attack after getting onboard finally, there are only 2 rows 8 seats in biz class, I never expected such a terrible seat in business on Virgin, worse than most premium economy seats, it reclines about 10 degree😱
I haven't seen a seat in biz class like this for years😂
It's a small aircraft, the economy configuration is 3-3.
Other things to match this standard, there's no USB charge port, you need a UK plug 😅
In the toilet, only soap and air refresher provided, there's no facial mist or any lotions.
Food choice is very limited, there's no fruit no ice-cream for dessert, either cheese or brownie (tasteless). Two hosts are very pleasant though and provided good service. But I'm not sure why they were assisting economy class passengers to use toilets for biz class, at one point, more than 5 passengers one after another, what is this?
Upon arrival, my luggage was out among the first few 👍
I had to cancel the return flight, lucky it was booked on points, reasonably easy to cancel. Initially, I was told there's no point refund, I have to use them on other Virgin flights. We did eventually manage to get the points refunded.
I'm going to book with Garuda to fly back, which is the only airline with flatbed between Australia and Bali or Indonesia. And flights returning to Australia or at least Sydney are night flights.
The passenger sat next to me said Qantas to Bali is similar.
And sure hostess said, she heard, Indonesia does not allow Australian airlines bringing aircraft with a flatbed to Indonesia, not sure if that's true.
Tips for other travellers
If you want to have good sleep and great service to Bali, do not use Virgin or Qantas, try Garuda.
