Review
It's certainly the most flashy hotel in town at the moment, impressive exterior, modern luxurious interior.
I chose the harbour side as it has expansive uninterrupted water view, I was told the opera house and bridge side may have a construction site in the front from some angles.
I got a room upgrade to studio at time of checkin.
The studio is very spacious, with a large bathroom, a big bathtub, sensor-operated smart toilet with auto heating and washing functions. Very modern flashy design, a bit too much gloss metal finish throughout the whole hotel, in my opinion..
You can use the dining voucher in various restaurants, the hottest restaurants in town due to its location, and great designs. Prebooking is necessary
We only tried the Woodcut, on the ground floor, good food. I'm more impressed with the breakfast, with big range of international food and drink options. The tea House design looks good, and the menu for the Asian restaurant 'Silk' looks enticing, we will go back and try.
The pool area for hotel guest is the best for relaxation, facing darling Harbour, with cabanas, deck chairs and tables in the water. It is not really for swimming, as the pool is quite shallow.
There's another pool on a different level for the residents above the hotel, with more depth and suitable for doing laps.
Overall its a great stay, except the customer service we received after our stay, when our accountant raised the issue about the credit card surcharge, the response we got was rather pool. The duty manager Tara had no clue of customer service, who claimed every hotel she worked at has credit card surcharge, when 99% of the hotels I stayed do not. And the fact that I never received a booking confirmation/invoice, and, I didn't get a bill at time of checkout was also the first time I experienced with any hotel, after staying at thousands of them.
Tips for other travellers
Do bring the swimming costume for poolside relaxation and photography, not for swimming.
